Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas
My husband and I reside in Arkansas. His son is in Ohio. The depression hit his company here, and for a yr and half he worked only 2 days a week, and drew 2 days unemployement @ 60% his normal wage. He did not petition to lower his child support during these past 2 yrs. In the last 4 mths his company has returned to 4 days a week, and no unemployment for the 5th day. He has to carry a private medical policy on the child. Knowing his financial situation, the x-wife electively put the son in braces for a class I malocclusion-because the dentist wanted to do this to prevent possible problems down the road. The child is normal height, weight, eats without any difficulty and is 15 yrs old. The State of Ohio Medicaid program that is his primary dental refused the services because they were not necessary. Now my husband is being hounded to pay half this bill to her, even after telling her he financially could not afford it at this time.
