Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Medical Expenses: What are we required to pay for

My husband and I currently pay monthly child support, keep dental and eyeglass insurance on his children from a former marriage. Our insurance will not pay for orthodontics because they say it is cosmetic. Legally, do we have to pay for 1/2 of the orthontics since it is something we did not agree to, and we can't afford it, and it is not a necessary medical expense. We have no problem paying our half of needed medical expenses, but this is because she decided they had to look better. We just can't fit that into our budget and from what I can see, the orthodontist is sending all the bills to us, not her.
