Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas
Misrepresentation or Other
The attorney who represented me in a family law case lied to me on one occasion that I have proof of, but I suspect others. I had to do leg work his office wasn't doing with proof of that. Additionally, I believe he was either helping the opponet counsel or did not know what he was doing. He did not submit one piece of evidence leaving the judge ''void of evidence'', and opened the door for the majority of the case about a child from a previous marriage which both attorney's focused on more. I mentioned to him how the topic had gone too long to be relivant and he said no it hasn't and within two seconds the judge busted both attorneys for focusing on my previous child for most of the hearing instead of the child we were there about. Needless to say, I lost my case. The judge appeared to dislike him from the start. With this little information (there is more) what do you think? I have 4 witnesses to the hearing. Plus a copy of the hearing transcript on the way.

Re: Misrepresentation or Other
If you attorney failed to provide competent representation, your recourse against him is to file a Legal Malpractice suit. As far as your case is concerned, a review of the transcript and pleadings to determine whether there are grounds for an appeal.

Another avenue besides the first suggestion is to contact the Florida Bar and let it examine the atty's conduct and see if he performed ethically and according to Bar Standards.
