Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Permanant Gaurdianship

I am 19 years old and signed permanant gaurdianship of my son to my mother when I was 16 years old. At the time she told me that it was only temporary for insurance purposes. We did not go to court we just went to an attorneys office. Now I am moved out on my own and she will not let me have him back. What do I need to do to get him back and how difficult will this be?

Re: Permanant Gaurdianship

Have you maintained your visitation with your son? If so, you will need to petition the court to terminate the guardianship. If the judge sees you have maintained your relationship with him he will be more inclined to grant your relief. If you have not seen your son on a regular basis it may make things more difficult.
