Is it possible to relinquish guardianship ?

I became legal guardian of my son when he reached the age of 19. He is mentally ill. He is now 300 pounds and over 6' tall and dangerous. I am disabled. I can no longer handle him. Is it possible to give up guardianship? I am no longer able to take proper care of him. And I fear him.

Yes, it is possible to be removed as guardian. It is usually not a difficult thing to do. Do you have anyone to become your son's guardian?
