Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

I am a single mother of a fivemonth old son, never married to his father. my sons father refussed to sign the birth certificate because he "didn't want to pay child support" however the state is going after him for child support. If he has to pay does that give him rights to our son, Like visitation rights. He and his new Girl friend are expecting and she is not the best role model for my son. What sould I do?

Support and custody/visitation are two separate issues. OCSE will get child support awarded. He will have to file a separate petition to have visitation established at which time you can put on evidence as to whether or not that is in the best interest of the child. Consult with an attorney in your area.
