What is my sons legal rights to his son?

My son is 17 and entering the 11th grade. His girlfried is 16 and entering the 11th grade. They have just had a son together and her parents want them to quit school and get married. My son says he isn't ready for marrige and wants to finish school. He loves his son and wants to be the best dad he can be. What kind of rights does he have if he doesn't quit school and get married.

It is not required that your son quit school and get a job. That would only harm him and his son in the long run. Your son should file an agreement between the parties or a Paternity action stating that he is the father. With this two things happen, one, he has the right to request visitation and be involved in the decisions about his son, and two, he has a responsibility to support his son and must pay child support.
