Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Arkansas
Harrassment by Employer for exposing Medicaid Fraud
My daughter was employed by a medical group in March, 2002.
The office was in total disarray, particularly the billing.
My daughter got the billing on track, collected on claims
as old as 3+ years, etc. She got a bonus, raise, and many
accolades. A new girl came in Aug. hired to be front office
mgr. She told the administrator she knew a way to increase
revenue. She wanted my daughter's billing job and she got
it. At that time the new girl began to bill Medicaid fraudulently. The billed for free vaccines and were
reimbursed for them - ignoring the instructions in the
Medicaid manual my daughter had followed.
My daughter went to the Drs. This practice was exposed. My
daughter is being overtly punished for this - the adminis-
trator told many lies and is trying to get my daughter to quit. The cruelty to her and the cover-up is outrageous. Does my daughter have legal rights?

Yes she does. They cannot retailate against her for exposing illegal practices. Both federal and state law protects her.
She should contact an attorney.
