Re: green card-shoplifting

If the Immigration Service intends to deny your application due to the criminal conviction, it will place you into "removal proceedings," commonly referred to as deportation. You should have an attorney review your case and give an opinion about whether your conviction makes you inadmissible or deportable. The "label" placed on the conviction by the criminal court usually is not enough information to get an informed opinion about the effects of such a conviction. An in-depth analysis of your criminal and immigration case is required.
