Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Arkansas
My brother was a guest on the Maury show for paternity testing. Once he received the resukts that he was not the father, he jumped up and danced and from that point it was being labeled as "The Baby Daddy Dance" and was popping up all over the internet. There is a movie that just came out and in the movie they are watching the clip of him doing the dance on the Maury show. Is there anything that can be done?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the answer is likely no, but more information is needed. Very likely, he signed some consent - waiver forms before doing the Maury show, and these need to be examined. The holder of the copyright is undoubtedly the Maury show, so they would need to take action. If it's just a clip, like you say, there's probably a fair use defense anyway. Consult with a good intellectual property or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
