Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Arkansas

Copying Webpages..

I am a writer of e-books. My question is, can you copy information from websites and put it in the e-book, as long as you change some of the words to your own wording... is that legal? If so, do you have to change every single word, or just a few so it isn't a direct copy?

Thanks,

Michael

What you are proposing is plagiarism, and IS a violation of copyright law.

There are enough ways to do web-wide searchs for words and phrases that you run a substantial risk of discovery and liability for infringement. I would avoid that.
