Legal Question in Employment Law in Arkansas

11 week downsizing

I submitted a resume for a designer position. At the interview I was told the company was expanding and the business was doing well. I accepted the position in good faith and 11 weeks later was downsized along with 125 other people. I accepted this as just bad luck on my part, and went about my life. Recently I obtained information that the manager of the department I worked in knew the downsizing was coming months before I was hired. I was deliberatly lied to to get me to quit my job and come to work for them, only to be fired just a few weeks later. Do I have grounds for any legal action?

It is possible that if you can prove all of that, you could sue him and the company for fraud. A big question a judge and jury will ask is, why did he do it?
