Legal Question in Employment Law in Arkansas

A big mess and don't know where to turn!

I was terminated from a position because of an outside source who sent bogas letters to my employer and previous employer concerning my personal life. These letters forced disclosure of a personal nature not relating to the job or quality of work I performed. One and a half months after the disclosure, my employer taped a hand-written letter of termination to my desk, giving me two weeks notice, but provided a letter of recommendation for my office skills. I also have my performance evaluation from my former employer. I should add, my recent employer is a circuit judge, and former employer, is the director of juvenile services under him. I understand I may be getting negative references from both of them. This caused me to relocate to another state, and I'm still unemployed. Please help - thank you.

If the information being disseminated about is false, then you could potentially sue the disclosing party for defamation. However, unless the responsible party has financial resources for you to potentially recover a judgment from, and unless you have financial resources to hire a lawyer and pursue litigation against them, there isn't much you can do.
