direct deposit and pay time

can a employer force you to go to direct deposit on your paycheck if you do not have a checking account or just do not want to go to direct deposit. also if your pay period ends on a saturady night at midnight how long can they hold your check before they give it to you

If the alternative is to not be paid, then the employer must give you a paycheck. However, the employer typically can make it a condition of employment under the federal laws for you to have a checking account and to have direct deposit. It may be possible that state law contains some different answer, but that is something that you would have to learn from an attorney with an Arkansas law license.
