False /Positive drug screens

A pre-employment drug screen showed possitive for morphine.

this nurse has never had a positive drug screen in the 9 years she has practiced nursing. the state board now states she must surrender her license, doa 12 step drug abuse program or have her license suspended. how would she go about proving that she is not a drug abuser has never been a drug abuser and keep her license without giving up her life and her career over a false positive result on a drug screen. she has already submitted a psych evaluation requested by the board. what does this nurse need to do to clear her name of any wrong doing. thank you for your time any information would be greatly appreciated...urine test done april 2004. nursing board notified this nurse of penalty procedures july 2005.

Re: False /Positive drug screens

This area is very tricky. The Arkansas State Board of Nursing's rules in this area are very vague and easy to manipulate by employers. To give you specific information on your situation I would need to discuss you situation in detail. Please give my office a call 1.800.403.7868 or 901.683.1850.
