Legal Question in Employment Law in Arkansas

job related

I am on a contract where you work so many 8 hour days a year but if you work over time they do not want you to put it on your time sheet. If you do they make you call in a sub or leave early one day. They have even put it on another day that you may have missed. Can they do this. This week we where suppose to be of one day but they are making us go to the head office. It is over a hour away so we have to leave earlier than our regular work hours. It will be a 13 hour work day but they want us to call a sub it to work three hours that week so they want have to pay us over time. Is that legal? Cathy

Re: job related

If you are a non-exempt employee and you actually work more than 40 hours in a given workweek, then you are entitled to overtime compensation. The company can do some things to make sure you do not incur more than 40 hours, but once you actually work them you should get overtime compensation. For more information on your specific situation you should contact an employment law attorney or visit www.overtimepaylaw.us, my website for more information.
