Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arkansas

Needing informations on wills and power of attorney

I am gay and have a BF... in the state of Arkansas, I know we can't get married and I believe that we cannot even have a civil union, so I want to make sure that if anything happens to me, he has the right to make all medical and financial dicisions and I want to make sure that in the event that I die, he will get everything that is mine. What kind of wills and power of attorney forms do I need to fill out to make sure that he gets everything and has the power to do anything on my behalf? Thanks for your help.

Re: Needing informations on wills and power of attorney

You are correct you need wills and powers of attorney but I would advise you to seek the services of an Arkansas attorney to assist you as I am unaware of any AR specific forms that would fit your situation. You don't need to take any chances as the law at the moment does not recognize any legal rights between you and your partner unless the two of you specifically create them.
