Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arkansas

plumbing

When we bought this house, we were told everything worked, and the seller signed a statement saying everything worked. After we bought the house, we discovered it had been empty 11 years. We moved in and within 3 days, discovered that none of the plumbing worked. The septic tank must be replaced, and the field lines from the tank must be replaced. This will cost appoximately $5,000. Is the seller responsible for any of this? I called my realtor and was told that the disclosure statement the seller signed is a worthless piece of paper. Is this the case?

Thank you.
