Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arkansas

Property

I have recently brought a property for 6000 and a man approached me today and said it was his property. He showed me where he had paid the taxes and showed me something that might have been a deed. I'm talked to the man who sold it to me and told me he has a copy of the deed and this isn't the first time this man has done this. Who should I believe and what should I do I 'm just trying to cover myself please help.

Re: Property

Basically there is no way for anyone to tell you who to believe.

As for protecting yourself, you are going to have check the title chain to see who really owns the property and further investigate the claim of the individual asserting an interest in the property (including adverse possession).

It is possible that you will have to file a lawsuit to resolve any disputes and ensure that you are protected.
