Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arkansas
Realestate Fraud/Conversion
I live in Arkansas. My mother has a lawsuit against her and I was also on it with her until recently I was unsuited. My mom used to work for a real estate office and I was leasing to own one of their houses. It wasn't until later that I found out that the house that I was actually renting was really mine! The house was paid off and titled in my and my moms name! Long story short she forged my name on the closing docs in front of the president of the title company who also notarized the signature to be mine! All the while I had no idea. Now my mothers former employer is of course suing her for theft, because the property was not hers to begin with and I was until now in the middle of it all. I want to know if there is anything that I can do to this notary who allowed this to happen?? How would I go about seeking compensation for all of the trouble that this whole ordeal has caused me? This has been going on since June of 2008 and is nowhere near being finished, because now I not only have to testify against my mother, but try to clear my name that has been literally drug through the mud for the past almost year and the expense of an attorney and not to mention having to move even tho I was paying my rent. Please advise.. Thank You
