Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arkansas

selling of real estate to a minor

What are the laws governing the sell of real estate to a minor child. The minor signed an agreement to purchase a home. Her income was a factor in getting a loan with another person other than her parent. Her parent did not sign agreement.

Re: selling of real estate to a minor

I would have to review the document. It is possible the co-signor is the person responsible for the debt instead of the minor. Contracts with minors are sometimes void or voidable if they are not for "necessities" of life. There are several other factors, including whether the minor wants out of the agreement, but none of it is definitive by itself. Again, I would need to review what contracts or agreements that you have.
