Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arkansas
Warranty deed with life estate
My parents deeded their land over to me with a life estate for them. My sisters are now trying to say they will contest this because my parents were incompetent (according to my sisters). Will they be able to contest this? My parents are getting older 71 and 78. They do forget things and are showing signs of getting older. But in no way are they incompetent. How do I go about proving this if the need comes to this or how do my sister prove they were? They also have giving me a Healthcare power of attorney and a Statutory power of attorney over their finances. Does this deed have to be done for a certain number of years before it can't be contested?
