Legal Question in Tax Law in Arkansas

Tax Garnishment

Can someone get a back tax owed amount reduced? Can they get the garnishment reduced? Especially if it is a hardship? Can they sue NADA and a tax accountant for not answering phone calls or losing paperwork? How can you sue someone who failed to help with the back taxes as promised? What will it cost?

Re: Tax Garnishment

It might be possible to reduce the taxes owed. It depends on how long back, why you haven't paid, your ability to pay, and other factors. You could try an Offer in Compromise, if eligible, or other abatement offers. It is occasionaly possible to get them to stop the garnishment while considering other offers, but not at all guaranteed. Would need to know a lot more details.

I don't know about suing the tax accountant. That is not something I have ever done. You would need to speak to someone who is more knowledgeable in that area.

I would be glad to talk to you about costs over the phone.
