Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arkansas

Not Accepting Disbursement

Can I pick up the certified letter/check from the post office, but not cash it and it still be considered not accepting disbursement? Or if I sign for the letter, is that accepting it even though I don't cash it? I just want to have some sort of paperwork in my hands because I have no petition number nor the AR lawyer information. I only know who the CA lawyer is. (This is a continuation from my ''Beneficiary Requesting Accounting'' question. Thank you.

Re: Not Accepting Disbursement

I answered this once before. Yes, you can pick up the check. Don't cash it. Contact the court in Arkansas and speak to the probate clerk. Find out what you need to do to get the accounting sent to you. If there is no accounting, ask if there is a waiver of accounting in the court file that purports to be from you. It may have been forged. If so, contact the attorney for the estate and if need be hire a lawyer to appear for you in the Arkansas probate proceeding.
