Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arkansas

my dad died and had a will. leaving everything to my mom. My mom filed a wrongful death lawsuit and won. we also gave a copy of the will to the lawyer. does the money go into the estate and follow his will or is the will not part of the lawsuit. our lawyers have had us pay over $800. to run ads in the new paper trying to fine my brother, who my dad excluded from his will. No one knows where he is and haven't see him in over 15 years. Thanks
