What legal rights does a family have?

What legal right does a family of a deceased person have if there was not a will?

There are laws of distribution in all states. Since I don't know what your relationship to the deceased was, I can't advise you. You should consult with a local attorney.

It depends on how close a relative you are. AR intestate law (for someone who passes without a will) determines who gets what percentage of the estate. But I would suggest doing something soon before any property just disappears.
