Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arkansas

real estate

My mother owned a home (free and clear) when she remarried. Her new husband and her eventually got a mortgage ( up to the full value of the home) jointly. She recently passed away. He said that he was never put on the deed to the house. Would he not be on the deed since he jointly on the mortgage?. Did the original deed with just her name go to the mortgage company? Is he the owner since her is the person responsible for the mortgage debt or will we have to go to probate court to get the house put into his name. There are 3 surviving kids and we all want him to have the house.
