payment of hours worked
Does a business have to pay for the amount of hours they ask a casual worker to work?
My workplace will not pay for the extra 15 minutes we stay after the doors shut when we must then count our tills up. They do not roster it in, nor will they let us 'till up' earlier, so if i finish counting at 8:15pm, they will only pay until 8pm. I want to bring this up, but would like to do so with some backing, so if they are trying to rip all of us off, could you please tell me where i could obtain info about it which i could then bring back to my employer.

Unless there is an agreement to the contrary, you are entitled to be paid for the time you are doing your job.

If the job description includes 'tilling up' then you are entitled to be paid for the time taken to do that task.

You should contact your state department of industrial relations or employment and speak to a wages or industrial inspector.
