Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Australia

I've been getting paid $1 less then i should be for four years at my job and they have a list of people that are owed back-pay... except they don't tell us we are owed back-pay we have to ask... is this illegal? and can I still get Back-pay after im fired?
