Legal Question in Family Law in Australia

family law

my sister needs advice on whether her court hearing tomorrow for joint custody could be adjered due to only just receiving today that the father is going for full custody. The grounds would be that she hasn't had time to prepare as she couldn't get onto her legal aid case worker.

Re: family law

One would have expected that if there was such a major change in the nature of the father's case that that aspect of his case that had changed would have been adjourned. However, if there was a part of his case that, for example, was more to do with him simply seeking that the child spend time ith him, and if that part of the case was well known to your sister, then it would have been quite reasonable for the court to proceed to hear that part of the case.
