Legal Question in Family Law in Australia

Property settlement before divorce

My husband and i have been separated for 5 months. The property was mine before we married and my husband says i can keep the house which is in my name. Is there a way to write up an agreement for my husband to sign without having to visit a solicitor

yes there is. log on to the family court web site, or alternatively go to your closest family court registry. either download or ask for an Application for Consent Orders Kit. The kits is relatively self explanatory. Given that you are drawing paperwork that deals with an extremely valuabvle asset, you should give serious consideration to having a solicitor draw the paperwork for you properly.
