seperation ownership

if a married couple parted ways they have a home in both names still owing and a buisness in both names could they take one asset each and have the other persons name removed as ownership

Yes they could if that was what they had agreed to. You would want to document the agreement properly though beacuse if you do you will get stamp duty exemptions on the transfers. You also want to make sure that the party getting out of the business is 100% out of it.
