Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Australia
i recently developed a software program to assist me in my resent job ( in my one time), my employer found out about this and if i could expand my software for their use (with payment and equipment provided). i recently got a new job a i wanted to take the software with me. my recent employers say no, they own this software now as they paid to develop it during working hours, and provided the new equipment and software.
do i have a chance of winning and what rights do i have

Your best option would be to obtain professional advice and most likely leave the software with your old employer and redevelop the software in a new language for yourself based on publicly available information.
