Alias

Can an alias name be used in--name removed--will? Can the will be notarized if an alias name is used?

using an alias may result in difficulty determining who the person was that made the will. this could make the will practically of no value or result in additional legal expenses and costs in probate court.

the preferred practice is to list all names used by the testator in the will and have the testator sign the will using the name on a driver's license, passport, social security card or other accepted id.

wills are not notarized, they must be witnessed in accordance with California law.
