Legal Question in Family Law in Bangladesh

I'm a Bangladeshi. I got married about three years back. I have a daughter of 1 year and 9 months. My wife does not want to live with my parents. As she believes on individualism she want to live an independent life with me residing separate from my family. I could not make her understand that being only son of my parents I can't do that. As my daughter needs both of us, I had to do whatever she wanted. Recently she became very unruly and don't want to live with me. She is in a job with a mobile phone company. I also want separation. I want to know the procedure of divorce and who will be custodian of my daughter. What will have to do to be the custodian of my baby?

I am so sorry for late reply.

If you want to divorce your wife, you have to send a notice to your wife. Besides that, you have to send the copy to local kazi and local chairman or mayor.

Your wife is entitled as custodian of the daughter. If you want custody of the child, you can file a case in Muslim Family Court.

Please, think once again about the divorce. I will suggest you to think about the matter.
