Legal Question in Family Law in Bangladesh
I got divorced six years back while my son was about 3 yrs old. In the beginning I used to bring my son from my in-laws house once in a week. After passing most likely 3 years this way, suddenly she got married and brought my son to their new house whereby my son was not treated well. I brought him to my house and admitted in a local school. Meanwhile I got married. Sine I was in a private job, suddenly I had been transferred to abroad for two years contact. I left my son with my newly married wife with whom my son has a good chemistry. After a couple of weeks of my departure my ex-wife brings back my son again taking advantage of my absence. I came back to Bangladesh about a year but could not trace out my sons whereabouts. I talked to my ex-wife's family and passed my message that I wanted to meet my son. My ex-wife replied thru her family that my son will be sent back to me in time! They completely hindrance me ever since I got into Bangladesh. I used to look for my son here and there in the city in everyday. Please help me.

According to your statement your son is now 9 years old. Legally now you are entitled to his custody. If your son is in the custody of your ex wife, she cannot in any way keep your son out of your sight or restrain you from seeing him. She is liable to return your son to you. Your demand is fully legal and you may take the assistance of court and police.
