Legal Question in Immigration Law in Bangladesh

change of husband name

i am a green card holder & living in usa since 2006. my brother (us citizen) filed a petition for me & my husband twelve years ago but when the visa came available for us befor that my husband passed away. therefore i had to mention my former husband name in pmy passport as ''Late abul--name removed--. however this year i went bangladesh & got married again. then i came back to usa & my current husband living in bangladesh. however, i need to change my husband name in my passport & all the releveant paper work with uscis/green card. could you please advise me how can i do this? what is the legal way to change her husband name & how long does it take? can i apply for my current husband without changing former husband name in my passport & green card/uscis?

your kind advise for the above would be highly appreciated.

look forward to hear from you.

Re: change of husband name

In order to change your husban'd name in your passport, you must submit:

death certificate of your previous husband;

copy of marriage certificate between you and your present husband to the Passport Authority. Further, a processing fee will also have to be paid to the Passport Authority.

Passport services are now also being provided by the Trust Bank Limited in Dhaka, Bangladesh who charge Tk.3,000 for completing the change of name within 1 week.

You may wish to visit the bank's website for further information at www.trustbank.com.bd
