the new dui law california 7years to 10years
it will be effected by september 2005.

Thank you for your question, and a chance to clarify the new law. Yes, for the purpose of imposing additional punishment on DUI drivers, the State will be able to allege as a "Prior conviction" any DUI conviction within 10 years (not 7 years) starting on September 20, 2005 when the new law is take effect.
