I filed DV-then spouse did-not right

When I filed a DV, and when the other party does not show up--name removed--the hearing, and files one that same day---I got custody, but why did judge let her file one too? I even know it's a false one with no police report, done a month before but my guess is they could not help her but told her to go to court and she didn't. Until I did.

Anyone can file anything they want. The DV will be tried, and then the judge will decide if it's false or not.
