Legal Question in Family Law in California

legal name

I want to know on my dissolution of Marriage my name is incorrect. Does that mean that it's not consider legal that the papers are falsefied. Because if I get married again can he come back and say we weren't ever divorce because they did not fill the forms out correctly and put all of my information on the forms correctly so the divorce is void.

Re: legal name

No. If you were his wife, and are identified sufficiently as the wife who is the subject of the action, then the dissolution of marriage

is valid even if your name is incorrect.

You may be able, even after the dissolution is entered, to request

that the court restore your former name, and thus secure a paper in the dissolution

action which correctly states your name.

If you had no notice of the action (how else could your name be wrong throughout?), there may

be other problems you should discuss with an attorney.
