Here in Orange County, Adult Protective Services works closely with the Elder Abuse Forensic Center. I am not implying or saying that abuse is an issue here - but these folks are well connected, know resources very well, work with folks in the field outside of their county and share a real concern for aging people. They are constructive and goal orientated. If you reach out to the director, Laura Mosqueda, MD, you will get excellent direction.

Orange County isn't going to help you in Alameda. Contact the Alameda Social Services Agency's elder and disabled adults services: http://www.alamedasocialservices.org/public/services/elders_and_disabled_adults/index.cfm
