Legal Question in Family Law in California
osc
Need to serve other parent OSC for custody modification, but she wont give me address. Do I have to attempt having her served at work or can I bypass that & file order for public notice?
How do I file from oput-of-state: do I mail the papers to the clerk for filing with a self-addressd envelope to me?

If there is a judgment in your case, you need to serve the other parent personally, either at work, home, grocery store, whereever you can find her. Service by publication is difficult, time consuming and expensive. If you have children together, do they live with her? If so, you have every right to know where they live.
Re: osc
Before getting an order permitting service by publication you're have to exercise due diligence. It might be a good idea to retain a seasoned process server. It's not that expensive and if they can't serve her, they will provide you with the required declaration to obtain an order permitting service by publication.
Re: osc
You can serve her at work. You can mail the paperwork to the clerk of the court to be filed.
