Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Wills

I wrote out a will years ago with a lawyer. I now

want to cancel the will. How can I do this on my own.

I have already made arrangents that no longer relate

to this will.

Re: Wills

Just tear up or otherwise destroy the original. That has the legal effect of canceling the will. To be on the safe side, also collect and destroy any existing copies and send a letter to the attorney who drafted it instructing him to destroy any copies he might have.

Re: Wills

You should destroy the will by tearing it up or otherwise throwing it away, along with ANY copies that may exist. Also, if the other arrangements you made were through a new valid will, the prior will is considered revoked. Make sure your "other arrangements" will be legally carried out and enforceable.
