Legal Question in Disability Law in California
neglience on part of my employer
I was a supervisor for a government entity in california. I had an employee injure his back. I was told by my superiors It was my respondsibly to ensure he could comply with doctors orders of light duty and i did as instructed. this meant i had now a work load larger than my own as i had to pick up the slack for tasks he could not do. My superiors evan put him on a day shift made a job for him to do. now i had 2 employees work load instead of 11/2 employees duties. this went on for 9 months. @months after his resignation i hurt my back. I was put on light duty by the doctor no accommadations were made for me to be able to do light duty. my manager told me one evening that i had better hurry up & get well because people above her were pressuring her about my injury and thought maybe i should not have my job. i was shocked and i told her i could not heal up on her command because i was really hurt. My work life after that became a daily hell. i finally after 15 months f working with a doctor documented injury, being forced through threat of being fired for now after 5 years of service only good to above average evaluations, and not 1 complaint ever about me i became a bad employee so i was told my work comp doc took me off work perm

Hello, and I am sorry about your experience at workplace. It sounds like a case where your employer wasn't aware of their obligation to engage in interactive process with an employee to find reasonable accommodations to your condition. More details are needed to evaluate your legal rights. Feel free to contact me, if you would like to follow up.
