Legal Question in Disability Law in California
Is it "normal" for an attorney to request that a "Receipt for Preliminary Distribution" of an estate, be signed (as having been received) and returned to them, before they send you the distrubution? We're talking about a $20,000 distribution here.

Yes, but if you are worried, set up a meeting that yo can drop of the receipt and pick up the check at the same time. Do it through his secretary so as not to be billed by the attorney.
