Because of this and a heart condtion

my daughter is willing to write a

letter to help us get out of our lease

Re: pregnancy

Other than asking the landlord to have a heart, not much. You have a contract. He can enforce the contract. Check your lease and see if it is assumable if you find a new tenant for them. It is also possible that the lease might allow a sub-tenant [someone to live there and pay you rent, and then you pay the rent to your landlord.] Since you only have four months left, you might want to gulp hard, and pay the rent for four months then move.

Good luck.
