Legal Question in Disability Law in California

I am being sued for not having a handicapped parking space of 96 inches of clearance or more on a parking lot that I own on a plot of land that is well over 100 years old. The city has never contacted me about making changes to the parking lot, so I never believed it was necessary, and had not heard of any mandated changes needed to my lot. What should I do?
