Legal Question in Disability Law in California

wrongful termination

I was terminated after having surgery on my hand. I told them before I was hired I would need time off for surgery. They said no problem, they paid me during the time I was off, when I returned I told them I needed one more week for hand theraphy. They fired me through e-mail. What recourse, if any, do I have? Can they do this to people that go out on approved sick leave?

wrongful termination

Answering this is going to require more information, including what reason the employer gave for termination, and whether that reason was real (even if basis on faulty judgement or inaccurate information) or a mere pretext offered to hide the fact they were firing you because of your disability.Find an attorney in your area who handles ADA cases and go in to talk with them in person to provide all of the information needed.Good luck!
