Legal Question in Administrative Law in California

I'm a 28 year old male and want to legally change my name. I reside in Los Angeles, California and recently obtained the paperwork for peitition. however, the paperwork contains a lot of legal jargon that stirs my brain and I wish to have legal assistance in this matter. which attorney (family law or independent, etc) do I consult with in my residence area that can assist me in streamlining and ultimately completing this process ?

George Shers Law Offices of Georges H. Shers

The legal jargon should be fully within the ability of allmost any attorney. The cheapest solution would probably be just to go to the local law school and hire a student to help you out. They are not probably really performing the practice of law so should not run afoul of the State Bar. Since it is a statewide form and can be handled over the phone or by e-mail, you could probably use any attorney. Just remember the old measure, the higher the rent they pay the higher their charges have to be.

Abasis question is why do yo feelit is necessary to have a document form the court saying you have a new name? You can use any name you want as long as it is not used to defraud someone [if you are going to be taking a plane flight, check beforehand as to whether your name must match your CDL, birth certificate, passport, etc.].
