Legal Question in Administrative Law in California
Thank you Bryan for your answer regarding:This is a complicated question, but here goes. If someone has a metaphysical organization that is also a "church", and they want their members to pay "set" annual donations and monthly donations how legal is that? How can they get away with seting an amount to pay even though it is supposed to be a "donation"? thank you
I also wonder if they have the legal right to kick people out of the church for not paying their membership dues? I'm talking about an organization called the Berkeley Psychic Institute.

The bulletin board is not the appropriate forum for a dialogue. Please contact me directly to continue the discussion. However, I can say here that the request(s) are not illegal unless they put a gun to your head, figuratively speaking. At worst, I think they are compromising the tax deductibility of the alleged contribution.
